Well, the African Cup of Nations is just a stone throw away from kick-off with all participating countries geared up for the continent’s flagship tournament.
The 2015 event slated for Equatorial Guinea in January will converge fans from all walks of life within and outside the outskirts of Africa and to this to this effect, an avid supporter of Ghana Black Stars’ captain broke her silence and poured out her unflinching admiration for the all-time African topscorer at the World Cup, Asamoah Gyan.
In an interview with one of Afri-Culture’s writers, the 25 year-old South African revealed how ‘The Baby Jet’ keeps wooing her even from afar.
Q : Good evening, briefly tell me about yourself.
A : Good evening Sir, my name is Nozipho Khumalo and I’m 25 years-old. I live in Durban in the Kwazulu-Ma Province in South Africa and also a student of  Durban Computer College and loves football.
Q : So why do want to meet Gyan?
A : You know, I fell in-love with  “Asa” during the 2010 World Cup hosted by my country and because of how he plays and how he celebrates with his dances after scoring I just love it to the extent that I became his number one fan and a die-hard fan for the Ghana Black Stars and even if they are playing against the  Bafana Bafana  I still support the Black Stars because of “Asa”. I heard he is not married but I only wanted to meet him face-to-face for now, and from there, we will see what happens.

Q : I guess you have a boyfriend, so if he hears this, how would he react?
A : [Hahaha!] Yes I have a boyfriend but truly he knows  I’m Asa’s number one fan in Africa so if he gets to know about this, I don’t think he will get angry, moreover he knows I only wanted to meet Asa in person and I’m not soo crazy about getting married to him.

Q : Ghana and South Africa are drawn together in Group C for the AFCON. What’s your take on that?
A : [Hmmmm], I hope and pray that Asa will feature in the AFCON and perhaps score more goals and gets to the finals but the Bafana Bafana team are in top form this time ’round and because of patriotism,  I would wish  the two teams  meet at the finals so I can be happy and enjoy my football with Asa doing his own thing on the pitch for the Black Stars.
