I believed most football loving Ghanainas will be confused why a young man of my age wants to fight Ghana football. After Gold Coast gained independence from Great Britain and switches name to Ghana in 1957 ,football in Ghana also took another direction by joining the international football associations. The Ghana Amateur Football Association (GAFA) was also founded in 1957, got affiliated to FIFA and CAF in 1958 .Then the football revolution took place where Mr. Ohene-Djan was appointed as the general secretary of the Ghana Amateur Football Associatio which later became the Ghana Football Association (GFA). Mr Ohene-Djan held the association from 1957 to 1960 and in 1960 he handed over to Mr. H.P. Nyametei who also served from 1960m to 1966. after Mr. H.P. Nyametei, 19 other people came to the helm affairs of the association before Lawyer Kwesi Nyantakyi took over in 2005 till date.
Between 1966 and 2005 the association went through serious changes in terms of personalities notable are the current MTN FA Cup chairman Alhaji M.N.D. Jawula Mr. Ben Koufie, mr Samuel Brew-Butler ,Dr. N.Nyaho-Tamakloe , Mr. Joe Lartey and the list continued. The previous association won four African Cup Of Nations trophy for the country but failed to make it to the Fifa Football Mundial (Fifa World Cup). But that hard luck was broken in September 2005 the same year which Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi became the president of the association before Ghana Black Stars qualifiied to the Fifa World in Germany far away in Cape Verde Island.There are seven national teams under the FA , four male and three female teams. there sixteen premier league clubs and over five hundred clubs under the FA.
But it looks like the Ghana Football Association are administrating only one brand which is the Black Stars. To me as a football and sports blogger ,"The FA are more 'mafia than' the politicians".before you continue reading this piece, I want you to stop and try to answer these questions in your head. If the GFA is the personal business unit of Mr. Kwesi Nyantekyi will he handle like how he is doing it?, If GHALCA was for Alhaji Rajjie will he manage it the way he is currently doing it?, Is our father Mr. Abra Appiah not teling the gfa president the when he goes of the track? Would you say that Ibrahim Saannie Daara is doing the same job for the GFA as he did for BBC some years ago?
How can you a runing a so called premier league with one sponsor which you claim does not even pay their dues regularly and after the contract has expired you still went on to sign another deal , how can yyou budget for a three weeks tournamnt four estimated 6 million dollars which the price on the competition apart from the trophy is even lesser than 2 million dollars, why does the FA says he is an independent body and still chases the government for tax payers money to finance their trip to any major tournament. why those some of the executive members want Mr. A. L. Lawal to lead the Eastern Regional Football Association, so why does it looks like Kwesi Nyantakyi want to drive away personalities which can give him competition as the FA president from ghana football.
So how can a whole communication directorate of the GFA be operating without permanet office and functioning modern electronic equipments, so how can you release an (ITC) International Transfer Card for a foreign team without knowing the exact money used in the player transfer. so are the issues between the ayews and some executive members solved, before coming back from the break and what are the disciplinary committee and ethics committee of the GFA doing to mr. george afriyie when he broke the OATH OF SECRECY of the executive committee or the committees are doing selective justice.
