Downs make 12th signing in Mathias

Mamelodi Sundowns have made another new signing in Togolese defender Emmanuel Mathias, who started training with the Brazilians on Tuesday.
Mathias joins Kennedy Mweene, Cuthbert Malajila, Bryce Moon, Bongani Zungu, Dove Wome, Raymond Monama, Tiyani Mabunda, Rodney Ramagalela, Sibusiso Kumalo, Glenn Verbauwhede and Rashid Sumaila who have joined Sundowns ahead of the new season.
Close to 20 players are reportedly headed for the exit door.
According to the Brazilians' website, the 27-year-old defender impressed Pitso Mosimane during his trials early this year.
“The burly defender, who impressed the Sundowns technical team during the mid-season camp in January, also travelled with the team to Zimbabwe where he featured in some matches under the watchful eye of coach Pitso Mosimane,” a statement on the club’s website reads.
“After the Brazilians’ Zimbabwe tour Mathias also spent a few more weeks in Chloorkop before leaving the country back to Nigeria, where he rejoined his team there, Heartlands FC, who play in the Nigeria Premier League.”
