The Premier League Board (PLB) on Sunday presented the 2012/13 Glo Premier League trophy to champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko after the Porcupines beat Ashantigold 3-0 in the PLB’s Coronation match.
The outcome of the match was totally inconsequential but the excellent display of fabulous lads was as they cleared all doubts over their brilliant form which led to the successful title defence.Issah Yakubu was first to score the three second half goals before Seidu Bancey added a brace that sparked the festive feeling at the stadium.
When the referee ended proceedings, the players burst into shouts of joy and then the massive celebrations began with the technical team and management members joining the party on the pitch.
Ghana Football Association Vice President, Fred Crenstil accompanied by officers of the PLB presented the medals to the team and the revelry was extended further when hundreds of enthusiastic fans took to the field for memorable photo sessions with the players.
An elated Coach Mas-ud Didi Dramani attributed the league triumph to the hard work of the entire Kotoko fraternity.
“It is a moment every coach likes to see. I am happy things ended this way. My players worked hard and I thank everybody” said Didi Dramani.
He disclosed that the party moment will be over for the team by Monday morning when the Porcupines return to Kumasi Polytechnic to resume training for the FA Cup final against Medeama in Accra.
