Ghana duo; Richard Kissi-Boateng and Solomon Asante helped TP Mazembe progress in the CAF Confederations Cup despite a 2-1 loss at Liga Muculmana on Sunday.
The DR Congo giants progress into the group phase of the competition on a 5-2 aggregate following their 4-0 win in the first leg match in Lubumbashi.
Kissi-Boateng and Solomon Asante were in the starting lineup for the Ravens while Daniel Nii Adjei came on as a substitute as they battled their way through a hostile atmosphere in Mozambique to secure progress.
Mazembe fell behind after just 10 minutes following a mistake by captain Tresor Mputu in midfield.
This mistake was well punished by Kasusula to give the Mozambicans a glimmer of hope before their home fans.
Mazembe however restored parity on the stroke of half time through Mbwana Sammatta in a move involving Ghana winger Solomon Asante.
Liga Muculmana regained their lead early in the second half through Helder Palembe but that was all they could offer.
TP Mazembe thus go through on a 5-2 aggregate scoreline and will now go into the draw to determine members of the two groups in the second phase of the competitions.
