Press Release: 2015/16 GHANA FOOTBALL SEASON REMAINS UNCHANGED-----GFA

Following the decision of the Ethics Committee to demote Techiman City FC and Wa African United, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) wishes to assure all stakeholders that the programme for the 2015/16 season remains unchanged.


The judicial bodies of the GFA are completely independent as stipulated by Article 80 of the GFA Disciplinary Code.

KPOZO AND OFORI STARRED IN AIK WIN IN DUBAI

Ghanaian youngsters Patrick Kpozo and Ebenezer Ofori was involved in AIK Fotboll's friendly against Norwagian club Molde FK in Dubai on Friday afternoon.



The Swedish side was held by Ole Gunnar Solskjær managed Molde in a 1-1 draw during normal time before AIK beat the Norway side by 5-4 on penaties.

The Vice president of the Ghana football association, Mr. George Afriyie and who also doubles as the bankroller of Dansoman based Liberty Professionals has revealed the amount of money he needs to take a Ghana premier league team to play in the group stages of the CAF Champions league or the CAF confederations cup.

Ghana Dropped To 41st On New FIFA Ranking

Ghana has dropped eight positions on the latest FIFA ranking released by the world football gorverning body on Thursday 4th Febuary, 2016.

Coach of the defending champions of the Ghana premier league, Bashiru Hayford has mentioned he is eager to win the 2015/2016 GFA super cup.He however noted he is not desperate.
The former Asante Kotoko coach said his team is ready to win the game slated for Sunday 7th February ahead of their first-leg CAF Champions league game against MO Béjaïa of Algeria on valentine’s day.

RETROGRESSION: Techiman City Demoted Back To Division Two Of Ghana Football

Ghana premier league new entrant, Techiman City has been slapped with  a heavy punishment by the GFA Ethics Committee. The Brong Ahafo based team has been demoted to the third-tier of Ghana football, after been find guilty of match fixing allegations with Wa African United in the 2014/2015 GN Bank Division One league on match day 22.
The ruling has left the start of the 2015/2016 Ghana premier league new season hanging.
The Committee has therefore pronounced its sanctions on the two clubs and individuals involved in accordance with Article 68(2) of the GFA Disciplinary Code.

MANE BREAKS EPL HAT-TRICK RECORD



Southampton’s Sadio Mane has become the quickest player to score a Premier League hat-trick in their 6-1 demolition of Aston Villa on Saturday.

Senegal international Mané scored a hat-trick in 2 minutes 56 seconds against Aston Villa, surpassing Robbie Fowler’s 4 minutes 33 second fastest in Premier League history.
The winger completed his hat-trick in the 16th minute, as he bolt onto Shane Long’s wonderful cross to fire home for the Saints at the St Mary’s Stadium.
As well as the fastest Premier League hat-trick, he has also set the record for the fastest hat-trick in the top-flight  in 16 minutes, breaking Dwight Yorke’s record of 22 minutes against Arsenal in 2001.
